I am trying to help my friend out by rebuilding his carbs on his 1987 Honda Goldwing 1200. Is the instructions I seen posted for the R&R on the 1100 good enough to take me through the 1200's carb's? Thank you

The 1200 carbs are quite different than the 1100 or 1000 carbs but they all work basically by the same principal.

One big difference that I know of is the 1200 uses vacuum diaphragms to move the primary jets where the the earlier carbs have a slider.

You might want to check out Randakks.com
He's now offering 1200 rebuild kits and an instructional video

Oh, welcome to the forums!

i dont think so ....im sure there are some things that apply .....but 1200 carbs have diaphams ....im sure thats spelled wrong but they are different and use lots of air or vacume .....i have a 1200 rack but i havent looked at them inside or anything ......maybe the randakks .com site is the first place to look for info ....theres also backyard goldwing site that deals with 1200s a lot .....but id check the randakks site first....
