Interesting. This is what I see around these parts:

I can see where that kind would be nicer Tony!

That one wouldn't fit under the cover Brian and I am pretty sure it is too wide for the screws even with new holes drilled. Mine is an AMI style fusible link.

These are my options if I go with a auto reset circuit breaker
The one with the wires on is the style that I have used 1000s of over the years. They are in a plastic case and considered waterproof. The next two are wedge fuse and micro wedge fuse replacements. I was trying to invision the wedge fuse style in there because I thought the tabs would be nicer to solder wires to and I thought the micro wedge was similar length but it is shorter. If in the future I can't fit a circuit breaker in place of the fusible link I will tap into the harness at the R/w wire or the red wire ( they join in the link screw terminal) and the battery feed on the solenoid and run wires up to a more suitable mounting position for an auto reset circuit breaker.

I know... that is the issue. I never saw one like you bought before.

I want Tony's version.

Me too! Jeff will be along with a link pretty soon
I don't recall seeing one but probably available at digikey or allied electronics, going to look into those.

Some European cars, and some Japanese cars have fuse-links like those. Not sure about the size, lengthwise, but I bet they would fit with minor mods like Tony did. I might even have some on the self here...I'll look...
