Am I going to save/gain enough power to run a set of glove or heated grips and maybe a vest?

Ok maybe heat the hands turn off then heat the torso.

I like my 83 just the way it is other than it is woefully inadequate when it comes to elec. power.

Not interested in doing the po boy alternator but if I can gain enough w/led's to at least run my gloves that would be cool (i mean warm)

So any good sources out there? I am guessing there are led bulbs and such - just a plug and play type of deal or is it more complicated?

What is this going to cost me?

thanks for the help

I've no idea how to work the electrics for that. I chose to get water proof winter gloves and so far they've served me well.

The headlight is the biggest hog on power. LED headlight bulbs are coming down in price but wow, there's a lot of junk out there and online!
I bought one for $85 at a bikefest, very happy with it's brightness and beam spread, and power use is about 1/2.
I made a thread here somewhere, I'll post a link.

Actually, it uses less than 1/2 the power.
Here's my thread about it.

I use the different brands of the chemical hot hands packages. They fit in your gloves and boots and stay hot for 8 to 10 hours. I've ridden 400 miles in 40 degree or less weather and felt fine.

I re-read my thread and yeah, the back will hit the fairing insides. Some modding required.
I have a thread here with what I did when I installed a HID bulb, same problem fitting.

Pony I am using the LED replacement of the bulbs throughout my trailer. the work great. they work great as tail lights in the car also will also try as stop/tail light on 1100. they are at wally World in auto dept. 2 for $14.95.

For that price it's worth getting especially if it will fit in the headlight bucket of the Honda fairing without modding the depth.
Can you get a measurement of the height extending from the ring to back? I'll measure mine and post it.

Here are the ones that I am using which I believe are similar to Dan's one.

Don't know what happened with the first link but this one has the dimensions on the description page. I have been going to measure mine since your post Dan but I still haven't managed yet, so maybe this will help.
