will a 1985 GL1200 head assembly fit and work on a 1986 GL1200 engine???...i was told no.but the part numbers are the same...help me before i buy another head.i have a spare 85 engine that i think is good

I'm not sure if they are any cam differences in the years. That close I rather doubt it. Just be sure to use matching cams.

there no difference in head or cams ...sould fit no problem
do you have and ltd fuel injected ....i think thats just number differences in yrs ...i could be wrong ...but i dont think so
i have two 86 motors and one 84 ...im sure the cams are the same and any differences are small and will work on the other yrs ....ive never switch the heads before though from one year to the other
the product code list I have shows ML8 on all 1986 & 87 model GL1200 and should interchange with each other including the Sei model if the head is the problem.
