I just got the bike.I absolutely hate the floorboards and heeltoe shifter.Everytime i try to get me feet off the floorboards coming to a stopsign or redlight the boards wham into my shins.Plus the heeltoe shifter i hate.I have 2 stock shifter pegs off a 96 goldwing.I wonder if one of those would fit.I need 2 stock driver pegs for 82 aspencade.I have excellent condition markland floorboards if anyone is interested in trading. If the shifter poeg I have wont work anyone got one of those. My heeltoe shifter has rubber pads missing off the heeltoe square ends.Other than that the bike is super nice.

I take too long at times to get my feet down without floor boards in the way. Toe and Heel shifter was alright on the Harley Roadking but they feel too agricultural for a preferred option for me.

Was happy to see the stock pegs were in the box of spare parts that came with my 87 Interstate. The floor boards, heel toe shifter, C B radio, & burned out cheap lights on crash bars, all came off.

:good:

I can tell you the shifter for the '96 will NOT work on an 1100. Totally different set-ups, shifter-wise.
I have floorboards and heel/toe set-ups on both my '81 1100 and the '96 1500. I s'pose they are an acquired taste, but I can't imagine riding with out them. Perhaps I'm just weird.... When I got the 1500, it had the factory pegs/shifter, and I hated that set-up, since I'm so used to having the floorboards on the 1100. To each his/her own.

I agree about acquired taste. It is already confusing enough for me between cbr1000f, gl1100 and gl1500c without adding floorboards and toe and heel shifting. :head bang:

Taking excerpts from these answers- First of all thanks for answering.I have had heeltoe shifters on a few cruisers, plus my former softail.I never have liked lifting my foot and moving it backwards to reach a shifter to upshift. It just seems unnatural. The wide goldwing with its cylinder heads in the way makes the placement of the heeltoe way too far rearward in my opinion. On a sidenote this is the first 4 cylinder goldwing I have ever ridden and also the first owned.Way easier to ride than my 1500's.You really do not need a reverse. As far as the boards reminding me to take my feet off sooner when coming to a stop that;s true, but its because they get tangled up trying to get them off the boards so I need a few extra seconds to prevent me getting killed by running into someone.I am saddened to see the shifter peg from my former 96 wont work. The shifter peg of the markland must be shorter, but perhaps i could get someone to weld an extension on it.

The former owner had just made some major improvements on the bike. The tires look like they have about 10 miles on them.Brand new progressive rear air shocks, new progressive front springs.Amazing good handling.

Let me dig around the garage... I'm not sure what I have for foot pegs anymore.

I hope you have some.

My bike came with floorboards and heel toe shifter but I never got used to them. I ordered a set of 83 foot pegs off e-bay. I missed a few until I realised they were a hot item. I ended up paying $75 for a decent pair. 80-82's go for less.

I cant imagine paying so much for such a common item.

Neither did the guy's who tossed theirs in the trash when they mounted floorboards.

Sorry but I don't have any 1100 pegs

I just bought some off ebay for $30.I will have my floorboards for sale once the pegs are mounted.
