Mild restoration on my Dads '75

Not sure where this should go but I came across this at the Bike show in DC today.





It came out of a Honda dealers Museum. Completely original, only 38 miles on it.

Came home and tried to work in the garage some but the fluid in the parts washer is frozen. :nea:

my,75,76 had the same.coils,and resistor.and that little-round mini coil.and was points.but,ive forgot ,more than I remember,sometimes.i loved,my kickstart on those.i,d bet other, biker guys,that I could kick over my wing.and bam.i got a beer,or cash,and showed someone,yes you can,kickstart a Goldwing..priceless. :music:

Not much to see lately, got the tank cleaned, painted, and put back in. Serviced the swing arm bearings and got that back in.



The neck bearings looked like they had seen better days.



I upgraded from the ball bearings to the newer tapered bearing.

Looking good, keep pushing forward!

Parts washer thawed out and the frozen pipes/leaks at 3 different houses have been fixed. Finally getting back into the garage. :salute:

Forks look like someone had been in there before. Seals were wrong, thinner one on the left was in there one on the right is correct.



Got the tank shell back on and some of the wiring back on.



Started cleaning the wheels.... :Awe:



This is going to take a while.

Yes I'd say those wheels will take a while.

Thanks for the tip KYWinger, I'll look into it.

Meanwhile, WD and scotchbrite got the wheels looking as good as they're going to get right now. If I have time near the end of this build I'll do more with them when I have them off to swap the tires.

Starting to look like something.




BTW I'm leaving the 7/92 inspection sticker on there just for giggles.

It rolls.

for the cost of shipping, I have a set of carburetors not in bad shape at all with manifolds you can have. My brother gave them to me but they are for your engine not my 86. everything works on them, they are dry but pretty clean

Thanks for the offer Dean, can you hold on to them for a bit longer till I see what kind of shape mine are in. I should be to that point in a week or two.

Meanwhile, I haven't found a manifold for what I would consider a good deal so I decided to try and make this work.



Its pretty ugly. I'm not sure what the manifold is made out of but it took a boatload of heat to get a puddle going.



Next up was the heads.







I know some of you are a fan of homemade tools so here's my $6 valve spring compressor.
