looking up gl1100 pistons and found this site https://www26.brinkster.com/drzoom/civichowto.htm
and they have been fitting goldwing pistons into honda civic engines has anyone put civic pistons into goldwings?.have not priced goldwing pistons but looking at posts on this forum looks to be big $ the civic looks to be same size 75mm the pin is the same and height from pin to top looks to be the same and the oversizes are the same.have i missed anything or they may not work for other reasons?.tosh

Looks good to me except for the statement the goldwing pistons increase compression. Leads me to believe using civic pistons may lower compression some. Not a bad thing really if you plan to use a turbo.

$477.99 for one piston? I don't think I'd even consider that. But it is nice to know there are possibilities.

this is just awful to think about ... what a complete joke this is in the idea there a free market out ...obviously the money worthless and piston is overpriced about 10 fold ...I see no solution here in pistons ... as far as using the civic pistons in 1100 it looks like they are to wide in rod space ...so you pay this super over price for piston that still don't fit and have to be machined ...to me this a complete joke and nothing but laughable rip off totally

For all those who are looking for piston rings for your Gl1100, i have found these to interchange with each other. (1.2,1.2,2.5) rings

EngineTech.com Part # S75254
TopLineAuto.com Part # RSSZ5
DNJ engine componets...same as rocketauto.com Part # PR530A (also Perfect engine .com has the same set and part number)
Hastings - 2c4901
you can also find these in your local parts store..under these
Chevrolet tracker 98-00 L4-1.6
Geo tracker 96-97 L4-1.6
Suzuki Esteem 95-00,sidekick 96-98,vitara 99-01, x-90 96-98, all with the L4 -1.6

I have not cheked any of these pistons to see if they were interchangable with the goldwing or not, pin size, length, ect...but the rings are the same.

If I were ready to rebuild $122 seems a lot more reasonable for a set with rings and wrist pins as shown in the picture. However the seller again doesn't say specifically that is what you get.
