Harmless pranks unless you have a weak heart

As teens my brother and I would go on camping trips to the High Sierras. On the trip back home one would fall asleep due to the long drive back. We would wait till the other was about to fall asleep then hit the brakes a bit and scream. No sleeping after that

    Bass has duck for dinner

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jp9BSW38 ... detailpage I was just checking out fishing at Lake Amador in Northern Ca and came across this video. It took me by surprise. How 'bout you? Watch closely so you don't miss it. It happens pretty quick.

Mesh jacket or vest for summer?

A few months ago I bought a real nice armored jacket. It happens to be a Joe Rocket...xlnt jacket...for the winter. Even with the liner removed and the vents opened, its just too hot for the summer temps here (90 to 100+ at times). With the fairing and windscreen, the jacket vents don't vent...

    Windshield preferences

My first bike with a fairing and windshield. Now my first bike with a broken windshield (and mirror). Now I can get a new windshield  and mirror. Old windshield was :hihihi: real tall and was a wrap-a-round. 30" from edge of fairing to top. Is that how you measure it? Standard they...

Clarion 1 radio cutting out every 5 or 6 seconds (not ramdom).

I installed a Clarion 1 radio awhile back. Its got kind of a popping noise (slight) and at the same time the volumn drops and immediately returns to where it was before. Happens pretty fast but it sure is annoying. Doesn't seem to be a reception problem as it occurs about every 5 or 6 seconds...

Job completed: Timing belts, valve adjust and radio install

Thanks to all for your input. It took me longer than I thought but got it all done late afternoon today. Just enough to put on a few miles trying it all out. It doesn't sound or run any different, but that's a good thing :yahoo: . This was done for preventive maintenance, not because it had...

Why two OEM timing belt part numbers and aftermarket uses one?

I've noticed that Honda has two different part numbers for the timing belts (one for each side) and aftermarket has one number for both belts. Anyone know why? :headscratch: I'm thinking that one belt may be slightly shorter then the other but if so, why? Don't know the history on my bike...

    Still need a radio

Still need a radio. Please PM me if ya have one. Less chance I'll lose it to someone else (see my previous old post). Clarion Type 1 wanted. I have a gauge set I want to keep so I need the one that mounts in the fairing. Thanks.

    I need a radio for 80 GL1100i

Hey Guys: I've got the Clarion/Hondaline speakers but no radio. Don't know what the previous owner did with it. A gauge set is above the speedo and tach so the location would be in the fairing. Why does the factory set-up appear to have so many components? Any recommendations on aftermarket? The...

Engine oil: Standard, synthetic blend or synthetic?

Bike has about 30,000 miles (80 GL1100i). Non-op for a a couple 2 to 3 years. Fixed a no start condition than changed all fluids using a synthetic blend quite recently. Want to change oil again with less than 100 miles since the last one. I thought it might be a good idea to get rid of the gunk...

No fuel and a unusual find

Bought my first Goldwing that had a no-start (no-spark?) condition. Cleaned various connections (connected/reconnect) and tightened others. Rechecked for spark and got it. Oh no, still no start! Got that one figured out too tonight. Now a fuel problem. Removed all old fuel from tank and put in a...

New member and my first Goldwing

Got a good deal on a Goldwing. No spark with about 30,000 miles. Always wanted a Goldwing. Hope to diagnose the problem this weekend. Shouldn't be a problem. My first bike was a Honda S90. That was about 42 years ago. How time flies by. Glad to find this forum!
