I have had the bike for 11 or 12 yrs. The carbs have never been touched as long as I have had the bike so I couldn't tell you about the floats.

Have pulled the plug and it was wet.

I think I will make up a plug wire for that cyl. and see if it fires the cycl. I will then change the plug if no fire. There is not that many miles on these plugs but you never know.

Ok the #2 cyl is not firing. The header is cold when I start it up. So I guess the coil must be bad. Looking at it I can't see easy way to get to them. I have the seat and fairing lower panels off. There is a plate between the fan and engine so I don't see how to get to the coils .

My normal idle is 1000to1100rpms. Now when hot if I slowly remove the choke when hot it will only try to idle at 600 to 700rpms.

83GL1100. When I start the bike using the choke it runs very rough for a few seconds and then idles up to about 3000 rpms. I start to ease off on the choke and it will slow down and go dead if I do not give it more choke.Eventualy as it warms up I can get it to idle at a very low rpm around 600...

I need the flat washer for the oil filter spring. I can't imagine what I did with the #@$%^ thing.

Sorry just got back. Just as long as they don't have any cracks and can be used with a new gasket. I want to try polishing them and see how they turn out.

WTB: I would like to buy a used set of valve covers for my GL1100. They need to be in good condition. Just plain dirty is no problem. :yes:

My rear valve stem is wanting to leak.I angled steel stems to replace front and rear.Has any one replaced the stems by letting the air out and break the bead to change the stem? Then air the tire up?I have read on another site where they did but don't know if it would work on the Goldwing...

I had the problem with the tire rubbing on the brake stay myself. I removed the stay and put it on flat surface and made an flat spot on the stay where it was in contact with the tire. Then I took a straight edge and made sure the stay was as straight as I could get it ,remounted it and have not...

Does anyone know if the left side battery cover is the same for say an 81-83 wing?Ineed one for my 83.I lost it on I-10 yesterday.Or if one of you might have one I could buy.Thanks for your help.
