That way can show you that the starter works. It most likely will. But my thoughts are that you find a good wiring diagram here or on other Goldwing sites, I like goldwingdocs.com for manuals and diagrams. I know you said that wiring isn't your strong suit, but trust me, once you start to give...

    Changing the Oil

Very well put Rich. I hope my post didn't ruffle anyone's feathers. Just my experience. The point is to do the research! To quote an insurance ad I have seen lately. "You can't put anything on the internet if it isn't true." There is a bunch of false or wrong info about a lot of things...

    Changing the Oil

Having worked for an oil company in Pontiac, Michigan for five years before I finished college and started in the plastics industry, I learned a bit about oil. On occasion I filled fifty five gallon drums with motor oil. Out of the same 500,000 gallon tank of 10 W 40 motor oil, I would fill...

    mothers/fathers day ?

This will be my first Mother's Day without my mom. I did enjoy getting her gifts, she liked candles a lot, so I could please her pretty easy that way. If I had one more Mother's Day with her, I would write that letter mcgovern61 talked about, and give her the biggest hug and "I love you" that...

    Shifting without clutch?

After reading all the posts on this thread, I had a thought. I went for a ride after looking in my owners manual for the suggested speed for shifting, to see if when I shifted without the clutch matches the book at all. It was VERY close. Here are the suggestions from my manual...

    Mirror Modification for Fairing Mirrors

Thanks Rich, that is a very good point to know. I have only had my GL1100 for 2 months, and wasn't sure if they shook a little bit or not. I have had the bike taken apart a little bit, and did a semi-inspection of the fairing. There are a few slight cracks on the fairing lower at the bottom...

    Changing the Oil

Thanks Roady, and everyone else that takes their time to help us. I have a question...The previous owner had switched over to synthetic oil. I have heard it isn't good to keep switching. I want to switch back to regular oil, because I just believe it is better for the bike. Is it okay to...

    Mirror Modification for Fairing Mirrors

Here is a pic of my mirrors that I use. I know it isn't original, but I hate when mirrors shake and vibrate while I am riding, especially at night. That last post allowed me to upload pics. I feel like I belong now.

    Mirror Modification for Fairing Mirrors

I never liked the Hondaline mirrors. I took them off, and put mirrors in my clutch and brake handles. There was a threaded hole in each of them with a plastic plug in them. The mirrors cost $9.00 each and are black. They never change position no matter how fast I go, and I can reach them...

OEM fan switch fix (and other options)

I hit my head during the cleaning, and red Locktite came out.

OEM fan switch fix (and other options)

Thanks Beaver, what type of Locktite did you use? When I do this to mind I just wonder if a light coat of anti seize compound inside would keep things from corroding again. Just a thought. I will be careful not to get them on the threads as to have it come apart.

    Changing the Oil

Not sure if this site minds if other sites are used as links, but I found a great tutorial on rebuilding my carbs. Here is the link .......................................... The site wouldn't let me post the link until I post 5 times. So I am going to look around on here and see where any...
