No problem with the old frame. Just want to prepare the new frame so that I can remove parts, refurbish and put them on the new frame as I go. There seems to be a few frames around, I have a bike on the table presently so some time before I start to new project

83's are a year of their own when working with the brake system. I was going to un-link the system as well, but the diffrent sized front calipers threw up a road block. 82 calipers won't fit because of the anti-dive front end on the 83's. I have an ebtire 82 front end I might used if mine...

I just had the same problem two days ago. The bike was dead, no headlight, no horn, no turn signals no nothing. The battery was good at over 12 volts. I used a test light and discovered iI was the ground. It felt tight but it was not tight enough.
