Vaccum Gauges Flutter on 2&4 cylinder.

Vacuum gauge flutter is perfectly normal on two cylinders. The air movement is so much less each cyl pulse it follows it. Pinching the hose is simply a type of dampening Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New To Me - Second 1985 Limited - New Project

85 LTDs are terrific as long as you can adapt parts. Mine runs every bit as strong as my 95 SE 1500 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    1985 LTD Loss of Power

I just looked up your fuel pump and the Airtex E 8312 is an in tank pump pump. Specs look adequate for port injection so it may work. My factory pump was on RH side above foot brake under a little chrome cover. Don't know if our fuel sending units have ability to change to in tank design Sent...

    1985 LTD Loss of Power

I have an 85 LTD with a poor boy conversion also. Electric problems for me went away and your not going to overrun the alternator output with speed unless the field slip rings are no longer round and brushes are jumping. My fuel pump got replaced at 90,000 and I had to rig up a replacement with...

    Goldwing Obsolesence

i have an 85 LTD also and parts are definitely a challenge at times. But it's a strong runner Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Stranded...again....(alternator failure)

More amperage is always the way to go. If you need it. It's there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Valkyrie Radiator bites the dust..

I don't buy that mixing coolants argument at all. The only problems I've heard of is if you mix high mileage type with older type they wont recommend the long change intervals Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Gl 1200 C5 ignition

I don't think you stepped in anything here. You were welcome with your opinion and the others with theirs. Many people try many things on motorcycles and Goldwing owners for the most part love to make even tiny improvements to tweak things. There's very little personal flaming on this site at...

    HORRIBLE NOISE

Bottom end problems are highly unlikely unless oil flow is cut off. A boxer style engine has a virtually indestructible lower end because all forces of rotary motion are held by another solid side supporting the mains unlike a conventional engine where the energy is held by bearing caps and...

    Gl 1200 question

99.9% of belt slipping is because it's too loose. Allowing slippage to continue will glaze it and slips more. If a belt is very tight and slips a wider pulley or a multi groove pulley will provide more grip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    78 - tank gauges/7v reg. issues....solutions?

Thanks Dan. I'm not always sure of the rules. The admin of Goldwingdocs.com has 7 volt regulators Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    78 - tank gauges/7v reg. issues....solutions?

Yes. What you are doing is supplying power and ground to the unit without having the bike wiring and or. connectors interfering. The gauges supplied by the 7 volt regulator would typically go to full scale high end or full scale low due to no sensor to vary the needle position. IF everything...

    78 - tank gauges/7v reg. issues....solutions?

Temporarily place a jumper wire from batt to regulator and ground the same way. If problem goes away it's open Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rebuild '82 Standard Wire Harness and Fuse Box

As far as I know the 85 Limited is fuel injected as I have one. I also that the 86 Sei was also the same but different badging Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    1985 GL1200 LTD Reg/Rec

Just my two cents here. I have a 1200 LTD and struggled constantly to keep it OEM until I put the second stator in. The poboy conversion and some #4 cable for alt starter battery and ground created a truly more efficient bike electrically speaking Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rebuild '82 Standard Wire Harness and Fuse Box

Have you actually checked the gauge sizes with a wire cutter to check conductor size. My experience has always been poor with Honda harness splices and wire size. Loose and barely adequate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rebuild '82 Standard Wire Harness and Fuse Box

My 85LTD did not have wire sized like that nor does my 1500. #10 and 12 on those two are nearly non existent. A ridiculous amount of 16 and a few supply of 14. Headlights, fuel pumps cooling fans etc mainly 16 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rebuild '82 Standard Wire Harness and Fuse Box

That accessory power circuit came from a guy named Rudy of Rudys products. He makes reinforcement panels for GL BODY PANELS Also I still believe in clean, crimp and solder all connections. And those ground circuits are every bit as important as the feed sides. GOLDWINGS are notorious for...
