Well it is with a heavy heart I write this but I was required to sell the Goldwing for some necessary home repairs. Thanks for all the help for the brief time I had the bike it was a blast and I am now hooked and want another one. When I get it I will post up here. Sent from my iPhone using...

Thanks. I will do that. Yeah the bike sat for at least 3 years so that makes sense. I have 10/30 in it now. I will just take it out on a long ride hopefully that cures it. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah it runs for me. But now the starter makes a weird grinding noise and will spin but not crank the engine over. Is there an adjustment I can make or is the starter going out? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yippy. Found the charging problem. The wires from the stator into the white plastic connector are fine but in my bike the wires are bright shiny red covered in a black insulation. The three yellow wires coming out though only two were going into the plastic connector. So I did some cutting and...

I will look into that. Right now I can hold the shifter down in first and when I accelerate it makes a rapid thumping sound and the bike shudders and won't actually move. Also when the bike is running it is only putting out 12.44 volts to the battery. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks. Sent from...

Thanks guys for the welcome. Yes it is mechanical ignition. I will check for vacuum leaks later to see if that is the problem of not I will tear into the carbs. I was able to find a set of trans gears and shifter forks on eBay for a good price but from what I have heard a transplant is way...

Hello I picked up a 1978 GL1000 about a week ago and am working on getting it running well. So far I have changed the timing belts, spark plugs, oil, and coolant. Going to check timing and vacuum leaks here soon because the bike isn't quite running right. It runs better with the choke on, even...
