In a dream world on price for a bike with no parts available ...sheesh
Actually Erny here is building up a nice list of parts available from other vehicles. Not the computer yet, that’s a tough one.

He and I chatted about it a bit.
He’s got injectors sourced, TPS, fuel pump, probably more. These I think are the main wear items in FI systems. I haven’t looked what else actually wears on this FI set up.

1987 SEI sold new for $9998, supposedly, and he wants 40% of that 30 years later. Not going to happen!!

Sorta......if you count for inflation from 1987 to present, that Wing for $9998 in 1987 dollars would be equal to $21,543 in 2017 dollars.

CPI in 1987=113.60
CPI in 2017=244.786

244.786 = 2.15
113.60

$1.00 - 1987, same dollar in 2017, $2.15 - 2017.

$9998 x $2.15 = $21,543.75 (Nearly the same price as a 2017 Wing)

To me, $4000 is a good price for that machine in great condition.

Figures nothing like the worthlessness of the dollar....talk about play on words inflation sounds like getting bigger ...when it’s the opposite ...the dollar has shrunk to negative valve

My criticism? The "artwork" (pinstriping, etc.) Lots of 1200 folks had good stuff done on theirs. This is not one of them.

That's what I liked about my 87 the first time I saw it... no after market pin striping. Oh and the price was nice too!

Gents - have to say no such animal as '87 SE-i, only '86. The '85 LTD and '86 SE-i were the only 1200 FI models.

That's why I said that about the wrong year in my first post. :salute:
