Hi
Trying to fit the timing covers on my 78 GL1000 and getting into a right old mess with the gaskets dropping every time I try to fit them
Should I use gasket cement and do I fit the gaskets to the panels or the engine?

A little dollop of RTV at several tricky spots (ends and curves) works well also. Just don't use too much as when you tighten the covers down, the RTV oozes out everywhere.

Auto parts store will have a hose to cut & you have both, :good: listed on the site here.

Did as you said, Dan, and it worked a treat, thanks

The red on the down tube isn't blood, first time I tried I used gasket compound. What a mess. Took an age to clean it off and then get the gaskets clean enough to take the adhesive.
But now I know!

Back on with the build then.
