Hi all,

I'm need some help, I have a 1984 Honda Goldwing 1200 Aspencade. I want to replace the Radiator cap, I ordered one online through a Honda shop and the cap I received doesn't fit, it is too small. I've doing some research and it sounds like earlier 1984 models have a different cap to later models, has anyone come across this??
In pic cap on left is old one, cap on right is the new Honda one part#19045-MZ3-405

The new cap is a late model one the same as Val (Gl1500c)
You should be able to get your old one from an auto parts store as I am pretty sure they are small neck Japanese radiator cap.

Thanks, I did some more digging and it appears that the earlier 1984 1200A used the 1100 radiators hence the larger neck and cap.

Good deal for sure. 1100 radiator is about 30% more capacity. I found in a direct test between the 2 on a 84 1200 with a sidecar, the 1100 radiator kept temps under control where the so-called newer "more efficient" radiator it had could not.
