This Part 2 of the Gallery tutorials is how to make pictures display in your post.
How to upload pictures to your Gallery is in the tutorial Part 1. Please read that first.
Any Gallery picture and any quantity of pictures can be displayed in a post by using the image links.
Explaining first some terminology will be helpful to understand how it's all done.A THUMBNAIL
A thumbnail is nothing more than a smaller image of the original picture.
In our Gallery the thumbnails act as links to the larger original picture.
When you click on our thumbnails the larger original, full size image will be opened and displayed in the Gallery.
The Gallery software automatically creates these thumbnails.A LINK
Everything on the internet is stored somewhere. A "URL" is used to find it.
We use the word "Link" as a shortened description of this.A URL
This is the location on the internet of the image we have stored in the Gallery.
Ok so all of the images in the Gallery have a link to them.
I have simplified how we get that link.
Below every image in the Gallery (both the full size image and the thumbnail image) there is a line called Embed Thumbnail Image:
When you left click on the image link line, the link will be highlighted in blue.
Now right click and select "copy" from the list of options.
That link can now be "pasted" in your post to display the thumbnail
image and when clicked on will open the full size image in the Gallery.
If you want to display the full size image in your post instead of the thumbnail, that can be done too but the full size image must first be displayed in the Gallery to get the image LINK.
When you left click the "Embed Full Size Image" link line it will turn blue also. Right click then "Copy" that link and paste it in your post the same way as doing a thumbnail.
That's about it.
