Joedrum;

What was the wire we worked with last June to get the trike to charge? I've slept a lot since then and can't remember.

If memory serves it was a solid black. Not certain though.

If it's a charge sense wire, it dang sure wouldn't get grounded. I'm not the one to ask for the specific tie-in point, but I would think you'll want a node that's not reflective of numerous voltage drops - i.e. as close to the true 12V rail voltage as possible.

For the Electrical gurus:
1984 Interstate, RPM : 1250, Headlight, fan, & taillight are on.
Probing the voltage regulator wires to ground.

Green1 : ground
Green2 : ground
Black: 10V (battery voltage after drop). Does not increase at higher RPMs. PO says installed new alternator.
Yellow: 22V
Yellow: 22V
Yellow: 22V
Red/white: 40V
Red/white: 40V

What do these readings indicate?

Sounds pretty healthy to me. I'm betting the battery reads 13+v under the same conditions.
