Have any of you guys had both a '75 and one of the later GL1000s? Say a '77 on? I had a '77 and it was quite a bit different in performance than my early experience with the '75 engine in the Hunley. It seems to really want more RPM while my '77 was almost as indifferent to low RPM lugging as my '06 GL1800. May be the carb rebuild I did or some other artifact of my initial tuning efforts, but it seems to be quite happy at higher RPM.

Did Honda make that much change in the tune from '75 to '77?
