hi oldwing-fans
i've the honda maintenance instructions on 2-3 open
and i see the picture with the drain plug for the oil change i want to do. with this picture in mind i looked everywhere at my gl1200 to identify it. no chance, i don't see it. maybe i should change my glasses :). maybe the bike doesn't match with the picture. whatever it is i need a little help to find the drain plug. please, give me an input.
thanks a lot

found it!
i was looking everywhere ;-)
thanks to the haynes manual picture i could identify the drain plug at the back side of the engine. the honda manual picture didn't help me at all.
my next question is what is the torque specification for the oil filter bolt? the drain plug is 10Nm as i found in the manual.
cheers

The 1200 oil drain plug is to the rear of the engine block just aft of where the right foot peg is - view from right side of bike. You have to look from back to front under the engine, 17 mm bolt I think. OEM manual page 3-12. 22 ft-lbs/30 N.m

perfect 30Nm! ;-)
this right the place i found the plug.
thank you for the help.
now i can start the maintenance job and modifications i want to do.

in germany they also say...
after tight comes off = nach fest kommt ab
