air filter: after 12000kms still new

hi oldwing-fans
just doing for the first time maintenance on my own to the gl1200. yesterday i took the air filter out of the box to change it but it looked like new after 12000kms. 3 insects on it but no dirt, oil or changed colour. just like the new one i wanted to put in. i'll ride another 12000kms with it before i look again. i expected a black air filter plenty of dirt. nyce surprise
