Welcome from the west coast Canadian rock. Like you say get your riding in soon, white stuff is coming. Northern Ontario where my brother lives has been getting snow flurries this past week. Cheers

Thanks for the "Welcome" Rednaxs60!
Our change of season really helps to keep the mileage down. It's always a long winter :fiddle:

Hi skiri251,
I'm a bit north of Looong (lol) Island. If you go north, Colton, NY is about 40 minutes from the Canadian Border @ Cornwall.

I've posted a few pics of the 1978 GL1000 in this album:

It was about 52 degrees and sunny today so I did manage to get a few miles in!

Wow! What a beautiful bike!
I have been to Catskill, Finger Lakes, Niagara Falls but not to that north.

There really isn't a lot up this way and we've already had three hard frosts.
The places you've been are really the more popular scenic places for sure!
Your "Snake uphill and downhill" pics are pretty cool! Love the teeth on that tilting sidecar!

Nice bike. I like the paint scheme. Spent a looooong HOT summer ~1973 in Saratoga/Balston Spa while doing my Navy Nuc prototype training. Had my first bike - a '70 TR6C Triumph chopper - built in Saratoga.

Thank you pidjones!
There's a ton of combinations that look good on these oldwings. I like what you've done with your GL1000 'project'- '78 with '75 motor. I've toyed with the idea of straight pipes like yours but didn't know how it would sound. I've been to Balston Spa once (Curtis Lumber Car Show) and it was hotter than hot that day!!! :heat:

I ended up with Emgo shorty slash-cuts on it. Still louder than I'd like, but others have complemented me on its bark. I guess the GL1800 has me spoiled
