Replacing Well-worn Vetters Bags and Trunk

I kinda figured plug and play would be a lot to ask for. I have all the mounting hardware, it's just whether it will bolt to the 79

Replacing Well-worn Vetters Bags and Trunk

Hello to all. I hope to mount '82 Aspencade trunk and bags on my '79. Outside of special wiring, are there frame differences/fitment issues I should be aware of?

    Horn not functioning correctly

My thanks to all for your valuable input. I discovered the Parts + horn would buzz but not honk. A simple tap with my finger and it would honk. I seldom use the horn, perhaps it just needs to be loosened up. I'll make a point of honking it more often and see if it improves. Again, my thanks...

    Parting out '82 Aspencade

Thanks for your sympathy, I really have mixed emotions about selling it, but $ wise, it's worth much more in parts and removing stuff helps satisfy the urge to turn a wrench.

    Parting out '82 Aspencade

Hello to all. I'm parting out my 82 Aspy. The engine was running, I have the heads off, lapped in the valves, new stem seals. The bike is complete, the plastics are in good condition for the most part, Clarion Radio is complete and to the best of my knowledge, functioning (according to the...

    Horn not functioning correctly

Yes, checking it with the engine running. It's not a pressure on the horn button issue, the horns simply do not function sometimes.

    Horn not functioning correctly

Hello to all, the horn on my '79 seems to work fine every time I check it, but when I need it? You got it, dead as a hammer. Where do I start to look to find the source of the malfunction?

    Wrenching....it is therapeutic!

I resemble all the above, when I'm not turning wrenches, I'm studying what I'm going to tackle next, may the Gods of Small Projects smile upon all of us

    Getting Old

Recently I took a ride on a friends Honda 250. There was no windshield, I was truly in the breeze. Around 60 mph, something on my neck kept flapping in the wind, it kinda felt like a shirt collar, but I was wearing a tee shirt. Frustrated at the constant battering I finally decided to seek...

    Close call

glad you made it, that's always a good thing. As an "experienced" rider, been riding since I was 12, I learned I had some pretty shaky skills that were learned from not being taught proper riding habits. I had to take the Motorcycle Safety Course, and it was the best thing I've done for my own...
