CM85 is right. European Gl1000, such as mine, were fitted with long fenders... that the boys used to shorten when they were new!

Tanks, once more, Slabghost for your advice about the primary chain. I found a brand new inox exhaust at a cheap price (+/- $200) for the GL and today's job is gonna be taking the petrol tank out of the frame to get rid of the rust...

Oh, by the way, I forgot to say that the last plugs went out without the pneumatic wrench but I had to use a lot of strength to get them out! May be, threatening the plugs with the Chicago Pneumatic made them reasonable... :smilie_happy:

Thanks Slabghost, I think I'll follow your advice and get her running. Then, I'll decide if she's in need or not of a complete engine rebuilding. Nevertheless, I'm worried about the primary chain. How long do they last on the GL?

Thanks everybody! The plugs have been soaking in penetrating oil for a week... I fear that all the nuts and bolts on the bike will give me the same headache during stripping... :cry:

Thanks for your welcome! The GL will be undergoing a complete restoration. When I tried to take the spark plugs out of the engine, they were seized solid in the heads. I had to use a 30" drive bar to get two of them out of the engine, a third one broke just under the collar of the plug and, as...
