I am wanting to swap 83' gears into my 81' and was wondering how much of and rpm drop I can expect at cruising speeds. Right now at 65mph I am running about 4300k.
Thanks,
Fitz
I am going to try and wire in a bosch type relay to see if I can get more voltage to the stock coils on my 81'. Does anyone know what wire powers the coils in the three prong plug? I think it's the blk/w right? If so what wire would go to the 86 on the relay from the kill switch? BTW here is...
Like the title says I have rebuilt and cleaned the carbs, floats are adjusted and I still can't get my 81' to run right. I synched the carbs but it just won't run crisp! Off idle is crap. How can I determin a bad fuel pump? I have checked timing and with T1 the "up" is up on the cam wheels and...
I am looking to upgrade the instrument bulbs and was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on what to use other than the stock bulbs that are hard to find in the right wattage?
Thanks,

Just put the rebuilt carbs back in and it fired right up. I then turned the kill switch off and now I have no power at all. The battery shows 12.59vt. Is there another main fuse besides the one connected to the starter relay?
Thanks
I have spent about and hour trying to bleed the front brakes on my 81' to no avail! All of the calipers have been rebuilt and I went through 1qt of dot 3 on just the fronts with no progress. I have tried pumping the lever and cracking the line loose at the master cylinder then moved on to the...
I spent about 6hrs wet sanding the covers going from 400 grit up to 1500 grit. Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep them looking good other than high temp clear coat that turns yellow. Here's a picture of the before and after.

I am in the middle of replacing the timing belts on my 81' and was wondering if there are any other options other than the stealer for the timing belt tensioners?
Thanks,
