Does the motor have to be removed on a GL1100 for the C5 ignition?

Thanks guys it wasn't that bad to get too just had to remove the fuel pump, which was also leaking a small bit of oil. Hope I got all the leaks sealed now.. Doing a 4000 km trip for our honeymoon in a few days down to the pacific coast hwy and back, didn't want any leaks if I could help it...

Hello my 81 GL1100 is leaking a bit of oil from the inspection plate on the right side by the fuel pump. Would a high temp engine gasket maker work to seal this up? Suggestions appreciated thanks..

Hi my 81s transmission seems overly Honda clunky. I seem to have a hard time finding neutral as well. It does have a heel/toe shifter which I have never used before. Sometimes the sifter pops out of gear if I don't hit the shifter hard.

I think I just may do that.

Ok so I pulled the fairing box and there is indeed 2 separate antenna plugs. I tried both. They do the exact same thing. Everything else in there looks clean and in good shape. I'm at a loss..

I will pull out the stereo module today as I cannot see behind it. Thanks. I know fm needs antenna I was told its a separate one from the am.

Then why all the static from fm? I was told that the rear antenna is AM only since prior to the 80s.

That's what I am wondering. I took off antenna and the am goes dead. However the fm isn't effected. I can still kind of hear fm but it has some static and isn't clear.

The antenna on the back is for am radio it doesn't effect fm.
