Unfortunately I couldn't even tell you what jets are in it, I got a set of tiny bits for drilling jets. I've drilled them, soldered them closed and drilled again so many times just tinkering I have no idea what sizes they are. I have considered picking up a wideband 02 to give me a better idea...

Man I kinda let this thread die, sorry guys! I picked up a 99 Valkyrie at the end of last summer and the GL1000 got shoved in the corner except for the occasional twisty road ride. I ended up putting a few thousand miles on the single carb setup last summer, it still never ran well in cool...

The main or pilot? Also can anyone give me a for sure answer on which set of hers are for the primary barrel and which for the secondary, to see if my guess is right

The plugs seem ok, not all sooty now like they were before. Made the ride today, 425 miles most of it at about 85mph. It did fairly well. The one tiny flat spot I have is liveable, 4th and 5th gear dont pull very well though at highway speeds. Just going to have to do a little more tuning. Oh...

On the launch it kinda sputters and burbles when it does it.

Went up a bit on the primary main, I think, to be honest Im not sure which jets are for which barrel but guessing and checking has gotten me close. Still have a small flat spot, and I still cant launch hard or it bogs out but its very rideable. Making a 400 mile trip tomorrow since its supposed...

Ok I need someone that understands the jetting circuits on these carbs a little more than myself. Got my tire on last night, went out riding a bit today. Most of the range is spot on, however at almost exactly half throttle, right when the secondary should be starting to open I have a dead spot...

Wont have any progress for at least a week unfortunately, pulled my rear tire and took it in to get a new one on. Then need to work on truing the front wheel. On a positive note with all the help Ive got from here and experimenting with drilling jets I got my single carb XS850 to run today too!

Im actually not too worried about the idle, with my stock rack no matter how many times I cleaned tuned and synched them the idle would go anywhere from normal to about 5k rpm. I got pretty used to either controlling idle with the clutch or pushing down on the throttle linkage while I was...

Getting really close with the jetting, thanks for the tip on soldering the jets! That actually worked really well, made guess and check much easier. I feel like its very ride able now, if the weather would cooperate Id take it on a longer ride but around town it feels great. Not having any luck...

Joe Im pretty certain mine is the 32/32, Motorcraft 740 variety. Came from Langdons and if I remember right it might even say Motorcraft on it. Im going to give soldering and re drilling jets a shot tonight, if I find a piece of scrap metal Im going to put the adapter back in as well

Ok so mine wouldn't appear to have an idle cut solenoid according to that diagram, I'm talking about the evap solenoid then #68

So if it turns gas off when the key is off does that mean not having is hooked up is shutting flow off??

My plenum has a pretty large volume compared the the type 4 I see most people running. Its this manifold with the 2bbl pattern cut into the top of it, I think the adapter was helping velocity though with such a large plenum. On another note whats the verdict on the "anti dieseling solenoid"...

Also may try to reincorporate the 1bbl to 2bbl adapter, I lost a lot of top end pull when I got rid of it. Now that the jetting is getting better on the bottom end Id like the see how it would respond

I didnt even think of that, may have to give it a shot. Making progress slowly but surely

Does anyone know where to get main jets for these? I drilled the slow jets a tiny step up each and it runs great off the bottom now, no more bogging and dying. I think the mains are too big though, hits a wall at 6k rpm and burbles. Pulled a plug and its sooty black now so looking to go down on...

Finally pulled a plug, definitely lean. Going to up the jets a bit and see what happens. Pulling my hair out with this thing, anyone reading this dont believe believe the "I bolted this thing on with great power and driveability, no tuning required" line a lot of guys on a lot of the sites feed you.

Did another ride of about 80 miles today with the latest change, I removed the 1bbl to 2bbl adapter, and cut the mounting pattern for the Weber directly in the top of my intake plenum. I lost some of the big top end hit, but its much more ride able now. Im leaning towards it being lean (I still...

Still goin on the old girl, took it on about a 75mi ride lat Sunday. It was only 40-45 degrees here and there were mixed results. Wide open if you keep grabbing gears it pulls like a monster, I was very impressed by it. Everywhere else however is lacking. Roll on is nearly non-existent, if you...
