    1975 GL1000 Occasionally Dies

If you need carburetor work done, I highly recommend Mike Nixon of www.themotorcycleproject.com. He did a major teardown and rebuild for my '77 and it runs beautifully. No cheap knockoff parts...all factory level. He goes the extra mile to make sure they are right. Highly recommend him.

1977 Oldwing Seat is Killing Me!

Just recently completed a 3200-mile southwestern bike ride and one thing I learned... I need a new seat! I don't have the original. Someone installed a "custom" seat that is contoured for the driver and fairly simple and squared off for the passenger. It causes me to sit too far forward and the...

What have I done!? CBX !!

Really interesting following along with your postings on the CBX. Learned a lot. Bike looks great! Nice work. I have a '77 oldwing and sent my carb cluster to Mike Nixon last spring. What a good decision that was! He really made them like new again. Can't say enough good things about Mike's...

    Hunley fuel milage is awful

Similar issue with my '77 GL1000 in that it would not really run below 3000 rpm. I had significant carburetion issues. It turned out that among many small details, someone in a previous life of the bike had removed the air bleed jets from the carbs. If you have any significant mods in the carbs...

    '77 Hits The Road Again...

Thanks to all for your kind comments. I'm sure all of you know it's a work of love. For me, it's that and the nostalgia of having had the same make, model, color, year back in 1977 when I was "a young buck". For any who are not familiar, the bags and trunk are a special version of...

    '77 Hits The Road Again...

July 14 was a wonderful morning as I rolled my '77 Wing out of the garage. I bought it from my father-in-law this past January right after New Year's and kept it in my garage to assess all that it needed. It wasn't a basket case, but needed a lot of love. Fortunately, the frame and painted body...

Stainless Steel Brake Lines - Recommendations?

I'm thinking of updating my '77 with stainless steel jacketed brake lines. Who has the "go to" kit out there? Looking for recommendations. :thanks:

75 GL1000 reserve lighting and resistors?

It's a backup voltage regulator for your headlamp. If the low beam portion burns out, the reserve lighting system provides a somewhat lower voltage to the high beam portion of your headlamp so that you automatically have road lighting but do not blind oncoming traffic. The white lamp on your...
