Ansimp, I'm trying to understand here. If I have it right the ac current is produced by the magnets on the stator passing by the coils. Wouldn't it be creating current any time the engine is turning? The system would shunt to ground and the benefit is the rr not operating continuously and...

Good deal, I am guilty of running a little marvel mystery oil in the gas. To my thinking it helps lube the carbs and valves and should help out these older motors. Go put some miles on it and it should run even better. Brady
