Thanks Jeff...I checked the plugs and they look ideal. Clean and dry good color. The mystery continues Thanks
Not too clean I hope, you need a tan color...moisture can steam clean a plug and look dry when removed, If it always looks new or newer then the others it`s a problem, take it out for a good 100 mile or so shakedown.

OK...God and my brothers fixed this for me. I did not re-torque the heads after the first full temperature startup. When I checked the torque the left head had slipped to 25-30 ft lbs. I was fortunate enough that after I re-torqued the heads...NO SMOKE FROM EITHER BANK. If I have any trouble down the road I will install new head gaskets from scratch but for now FANTASTIC. Thank GOD and all my brothers!!!

Also...not only no smoke but engine temperature dropped and idle was considerably smoother. THANKS again to God and all my brothers!!!

I had a feeling this was going to turn out being something unusual, and it did.

I'm glad you found it but I'd be concerned the gasket surface has been compromised but I find strange things happen so you may be good for a very long time.

Good going!

I have run it about 5 freeway miles. Has fresh oil and filter. fresh water pump and coolant. Previously sat for 5 years. No smoke til engine starts to warm up then wont stop left side only.

how can it be left side only when theres a cross over tube connecting both pipes. to late

Crossover tube is basically a balance tube to even out the exhaust and make the engine sound smother, without the tube there is a more pronounced unevenness to the engine note. Nearly all the bank exhaust goes out the pipe on the same side

I found mine smokes like that when I run ethanol fuel so I won't run it I go to marinas to get unleaded fuels. Ethanol is a killer its sticky junk.
