This is a project i got over the weekend, the customer brought some of the wiring harness he bought used to replace for the left side of the Handlebars and thought this was his problem. I told him i would have to dig deeper into it to see if that was all he needed... This is what i came up with so far, as there could be other problems lurking and hidden and not seen.

I wish i could do it that easy...lol.

well...after showing the bad wires and what it had done all over the main harness to the customer, ...the customer says he loves his bike and he wants it repaired...so you know what that means....Yep---here we go.

one thing about s shorts ... it makes thing short in reach ... short in capability....and long on looking at everything as there is no short cut in fixing things right ... sheesh

You said a mouthful rite thar, Joe! :good:

I HATE diggin into melted wiring harnesses.....as has been said...ya never know what yer gunna find, but you can bet yer bottom dollar it ain'ta gunna be purdy.... A new harness is nice, but still a major pita to install...sure glad it's YOU, and not me! :smilie_happy:

What are you all going on about? You can only imagine how many times I have viewed a similar molten mess and been glad to finally know where the customers problem is. Replacing the wires is the easy part in my opinion as finding the short is the truly hard part.

IT's been a busy day, and i just don't know where all the day went. :headscratch: but i did get a few more things done to this wire job. I got some parts ordered, some of the parts cleaned, and some more taken off the bike. Looks like i got another one coming this weekend, hopefully this one won't need much other than timing belts and seals...I hope... :heat: I want a little break... Most of these pics were taken to prevent memory loss... :smilie_happy: ...and to show the detailing of the bike as i go back together with it later on down the road, since i got to wait on these parts. I Got to get ready for a busy weekend... :help:

it's been a busy summer...and i've had a few ups and downs myself, but i finally got the wiring harness job done, with everything else i had to do to this bike...and the lady traded in her silver 1985 for this one...when i was about half way done with it...i'm sure glad it turned out...but lots of work.. :heat:
