I have been helping a buddy of mine tear down a 1985 Limited that only has 12K miles on it for parts. I’ve got a bunch of stuff already off the bike but figured I’d post stuff here too in the event anyone needs it. The entire right side was smushed pretty bad but everything on the bike still works. Replacing the right side head too if someone wants the motor.

Pictures are attached hopefully; there’s a bunch of good stuff off this bike for those that need it. My buddy’s dad even has the two matching helmets and the jacket if that suits someone’s fancy!

Have been thinking about this. It's not that I need anything, but having some parts on hand never hurts. Looked up on google maps where Grayson is, long distance and the shipping would be an issue.

If I were to put a list together, I'd be looking for these:

Throttle position sensor
Fuel Pump
ECU

Know of one project where all the CFI items were sent to the happy hunting ground, unfortunate, but the reality of the situation.

Best of luck.

Cheers

The entire CFI system on this bike works - it powered on when I Put a battery in the bike so I’m comfortable with that. The fuel level sending unit: sensor I haven’t pulled yet so I don’t know what shape it’s in but there’s gas in the tank so god only knows how bad it is. I haven’t figured out the TPS sensor yet either which I believe is on the motor somewhere so it likely also has not been removed as of yet.

I haven’t pulled the CFI system yet either but it’s all there, that’s a bloody ton of work in itself lol

I know exactly what you mean. I've had mine apart and back together again several times. The CFI system on the '85 Limited is quite robust.

The TPS sensor is on the left side fuel rack at the front.

Cheers

I feel almost bad - last year there was an SEI that sat for awhile on the Craigslist around here that would have made a great parts bike.

Heading home to northern Ontario for Xmas this year. Talked to my brother to determine if he wanted to do a road trip. Have a couple of other stops I'd like to make. He and I haven't done a good road trip since 2007 - bout time for another one. First impression is he's not not for it.

More to follow.

Most of the bike will still be available - the entire cruise control system is sold at this point and making its way to Norway I believe. Pretty much everything else is available

My great-grandfather's uncle settled about 100 miles south of there, in North Bay, IIRC.
