I haven't done it, but other users say to remove a quart of oil to reduce splash when timing. Another uses a pvc pipe stuck in the hole. He said it's a tight squeeze getting the light in the hole and being able to see.

The piece of P V C is a different look at the oil bath syndrome of no plastic, or better visibility, with an oil spray, & vapor, to breath. :headscratch: :good:

Was said to collect near the sides of the base of the pvc and drip back in.
