My question about the mosfet is what real world advantage is there?
These stators last a very long time with the stock regulator. Will reducing its load help that?
I would imagine if this is true then the aftermarket stator guys would be offering a mosfet upgrade.
Maybe they just haven't realized a market for it?

I love the gadgets and improving when possible but does the advantage justify the cost is all I'm asking.
I suppose if a mosfet prevents stator failure and concidering that cost replacement then it does.

Good points! I think we should start a new thread specific to Mosfet regulators with all of the information gathered to date, pros, cons, costs.
