cooling fan

Is there anyway to adjust when the cooling fan comes on? My fan runs on my 1985 Aspencade, but only when the temp gauge is almost to the top of the scale. I was wondering if there is some way to make it come on sooner when I am stop and go traffic so it will run cooler.

dan has an adjustible thermostat riged up on his bike .....me i have a manual switch and turn it on when i want to .....its not a hard thing to do either way except getting at it

This is what I used, super easy to install.
Hardest part is getting to the thermoswitch plug and radiator.
