I think a lot spray them with Copper Coat which makes them look like copper. I currently have real copper on mine. Kind of nice as they are reusable to a degree. I have had them off and back on twice so far. Cost $65 for the set. So for me, that's a$100 savings so far.

Where did you get copper gaskets?
 
Yes where are they bought. Also i am wondering if i should just leave the old oil for first start since it is going to be changed right away.

You can select from different thicknesses. I went with 0.030" thick to boost compression a tad.

I'm not sure if he's done any for a 1000, but as long as you supply the bore, he can make them.
What was the $ cost?
