Apparently rusting at the weld where the header transitions into the muffler is common? My left side is completely separated, so I plan to cut the other side and go with the Harley slip-ons. My question is, do the adapters that go between the headers and the mufflers usually get welded to the o.d. or the i.d. of the header exit? Neither of them appear to be all that round inside or out. I couldn't find a thread with pics.

I'm not sure either but it seems like the adaptor would slide over the OD but I bet adaptors can be had for either.
Everything I have seen shows them sliding over the OD. Here is a thread that links to a few other threads also.
