I stand corrected.Instead of that big chrome thing on the side of this photo bike, mine does not have that.It has the expensive markland footboards both driver and passenger and the heeltoe shifter.

That incessant flap flap flap flap flap flap you get from the rear footboards when your trying to maneuver backwards, was what convinced me revert to rear foot-pegs.

I have only been 25 miles on it.I will see if mine does that noise too.

I've had those footboards since I got the bike and never noticed any "flapping".

The ones on the 1200's have a flat looking spring on the back, to hold them in place from any unwanted up, or down movement.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, wheel chairs have foot boards, motorcycles have pegs

I just rode it again.I hate the driver footboards. They hit my hsins everytime I try to come to a stop plus my feet get caught on them when I am putting my foot down for a stop.I think I will take them off.I have a 78 parts bike.I do not know if those pegs will work on the 82.input appreciated.

hmmm i think they will ...i dont like driver floor boards either makes me have to bend my ankles to much ...pegs are the way for me
i am going to look at the old parts bike and see.if not i will buy 82 pegs off ebay

You might wanna hope they fit.

I've gotten so used to floorboards on the front, I kinda like 'em now.

But a few years ago I had a perfect set of '82 front foot pegs, so I auctioned them on eBay, got close to $200 for those suckers.

Could be different now I guess, I haven't looked, but there's a lot of people out there wanting to change back.

Hey check this out, you might have just gotten lucky. You've got 40 minutes.
