I am installing new fork springs (EBC) and they are painted yellow on one end.
In one DIY photo I see that the "rough" edge seems to be facing out/towards the cover.
The painted ends are smooth, I am guessing that it DOES matter which way they go in but cant tell by my old,59k miles springs.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks, Phil

The stock springs go in either way, both ends are the same size but I'd hate to steer you wrong.
I'd call ebc to verify.
While your at it ask them why one end Is painted and let us know.

Oh, I did type in fork instead of clutch.
Yes, Im working on my clutch and am now on my 4th resource to tryto get a solid answer.
One tech at local shop said that they are painted at the factory in order to distinguish them from one another, blue is one weight, yellow another and so on. Im still looking at the difference in "smooth" vs "rough/painted end" and thinking there is a diffrrence in installation procedure.

Tomorrow morning I will be re installing my clutch cover and new gasket.
I cleaned up the mating surfaces really well but still wondering if I need some sort of sealant as well?
