I always get off on the left, the Harley too, feels weird swinging the left leg over to the right side. It might just be habit, but I am a little short this week!

I mostly mount or dismount form the left side but there are occasions when I need to mount or dismount from the right

When you put the side stand down, the left side is lower than the right.

Makes it much easier to mount/dismount on the low side.
that may be so but there are times when I need to mount or dismount from the right side

sometimes when we are out group riding or a meetup and parking is limited we jam into a parking spot, we might have five bikes in a one parking spot, you get off your bike on which ever side you can

Left side always, and I tell my passengers to do the same.
Interesting tidbit:
On the old "Chips" tv show, Ponch and Jon always got on from
the RIGHT side. Always thought that was weird and was
probably something from Highway Patrol training.

Since most of their job is writing traffic tickets getting off on far side from traffic seems prudent.
