A Navy program we have been involved in launched another ship on December 18th! For those that don't get a chance to see these things up close, have fun watching!

Did you notice the band didn't start to play until they knew it was going to stay upright...

Where was that at Gerry?
They did hesitate for a moment didn't they! :hihihi:

It was built at Marinette Marine Corp in Marinette, Wisconsin.

Well..they had to know what song to play....happy music, or Taps..... :smilie_happy:
Other than my time drag boat racing, I prefer to stay away from large bodies of water.....and the vehicles that traverse them. I DO enjoy watching stuff like that tho...it's just fascinating. :thanks:

I DID wade out into the Gulf o Mexico a few years ago....but not for very long! :hihihi:

Wisconsin?!
I thought.
Looked up google map and understood.
There is a way out to the ocean through St. Lawrence river?
A lot of things to learn from other than motorcycle in this forum. :)

Wait a minute?
Can't go through Detroit or Niagara falls..
So this ship is for great lakes only?

That would make it a Coast Guard Ship...

:hihihi: Seems strange doesn't it? As Brian pointed out, the ship's exit the Great Lakes via the Welland Canal. Some of the largest Staten Island New York ferries were built up there too. I think many people would be shocked to find out the locations in the States where our ships are actually built in the US and how some of them get to the ocean.
