i have done this too a 80 front end and the only thing 83 wheel needed was the shim remove off the 83 wheel and paper gaskit as thats what it took to hook up to the 83 two piece rotor ...l used the the solid one piece rotor from 80 i like it better looks tougher in the long ....just about any combo will work if tweaked right its all that close
