I heard way back when the single carb manifolds first came out a fix for a problem was venting the gas cap, I cant recall if it was a flooding issue or low fuel supply under load but they would leave the gas cap loose or they punched it out, but then you have to smell gas while riding.
 
I just gave it a try. It fired up very easily and ran well, so it didn't leak excessive gas into the engine overnight. I think as long as I remember to shut off the fuel it's ok. I believe that's what it's there for!

I put one of those on mine a while back then after switching carbs and engine I got lazy putting it back lol.

This is how I did it. Worked well.

:good: That's perfect. It provides physical mounting and doesn't add 2 more hose clamps in the fuel line as it would if you put it somewhere else.
