So, I started to work on the 1200 a few weeks ago, got the motor nice and clean. had to change some parts that where worn or broken, good thing a got a spare motor for parts. I will rebuild the spare motor in the spring when I finish with this one. I got a few pictures of before and after motor, big difference.

I was working on the flashers today to clean them up, the ones in the back have an extension to make them stick out. The extensions are in bad shape and I didn't want to spend more money so I found a solution. I bought some heat shrink to cover the parts, they look good and is cheap. Looks good hey.

Ok, working on the carbs I notice two things I didn't notice on other carbs. In between the two carbs on each side there is a T fitting ( picture # 1 ) I never notice this before, Is there something that is connected there or are they just to vent. The other thing is, on one of the carbs there is a small pipe coming out the side ( picture # 2 ), is this a vent to.

I have more pics if this doesn't answer your questions.

I see the small tube is connected with a vacuum hose, where does it go to ? and that canister that has 4 tubes coming out with what looks like a diaphragm doesn't exist on my two carbs. Thanks for the picture.

Sounds like someone removed the secondary air system from the bottom of the rack, so I assume the ports where plugged off under the intake horns at the head, don't know how that would work without a lot of backfiring and unburnt fuel being had. If my memory is correct the small air vent tube is open to atmosphere with no hose connected to it. I think. Anyway here's some more pics.

I think Canadian wings don't have this air system, I know on my two bikes they don't have this system. The heads are different to, they don't have the air ports like US bikes. If you look at the heads, there are no air ports. If you look at the bottom of the carb you will see no air system, this is stock.

Never seen one of those but the only thing missing is the secondary air system. Looks like the anti afterburn and the slow air cutoff are basicaly in the same position and hook up the same. Are the heads plugged off or just not cast in like the American heads for the air injection?
