88 GL1500 Intercomm and Radio Channel Switch Inop

Has anyone had issues with this before? We had the front of the fairing apart to install LEDs in the driving, turn signal, marker and dash lights, and to install HIDs. Upon reassembly, we found that the intercomm is inop, as is the radio channel switch. CB controls work normally. We have previously experienced the mute turning on randomly, but I have not looked into that yet.

Is this a loose connection?

i don't think he wants to pull the fairing just to check a connector but its the only way

Thanks folks. The fact that no one has heard of system failures like this gives me hope it is just wiring...a much easier fix. I'll be pulling the front and top off when weather again permits.
