I noticed leather fringe on different areas on several of the "other" motorcycles. I think it looks slick. But I have yet to see fringe in any quantity on any gold wing past or present. Any reason why that is?

Just personal taste I suppose. I still have tassels on my 80 handgrips but they were added by the previous owner.

Fringe requires certain elements to be acceptable like flat black or candy paint, flames are even better and may or may not require leather saddle bags to balance the leather out, a saddle seat really helps, some chrome required but too much and the fringe has to come off. You will also need a 1/2 helmet, nobody rides with fringe and a 3/4 or full face..Leather boots are also a must, no penny loafers or Chuck Taylors when fringe is on.
Just have to be smart about it, fringe has certain requirements.

That's what I'm talking about, Omega Man. Nice touch to an already pimped out rig.
