I am removing the tach and I need a way to run the engine without the tach cable installed in the fuel pump housing. Any ideas on how to seal up the hole?

Just go the parts store and get a push on cap for a large vacuum port. there is no pressure to what little oil gets in there. just remove tach cable and push on the cap.
