do you have to drill holes to mount these

No they mount at the bottom of the fairing storage pockets. I'm buying a set of the blue ones as spares, they are that hard to find.

I friend gave me some show chrome wind wings that bolt on using the fairing pockets about three years ago they work pretty good but they are the smaller wind wings

These are only about 5"x7."

I don't see why not, my bike is a 93. Maybe they stopped production after 92.

the spacing of the bolts used to mount the air wings didn't change so I don't see why they wouldn't work on all years of 1500 wings
