Hello all, I've got a GL1200 that came with a Corbin seat installed and I was curious as to the function of the lever on the side since I can't find any information about it elsewhere and I'm sure it's going to be something ridiculously obvious.

Loosen the lever, adjust the backrest height, tighten the lever.

I have one on an 86I that is hard as a rock. How soft is the one you have?

Mines fairly hard, can only go about two hours at a time without having issues. And thanks for the info, I kinda figured that's what is was but wanted to be sure.

They take a while to break in to your shape. The back rest's are a big plus if you have back issue's.

the lever is to adjust the back rest up and down, depending on where your kidneys are, and corbin says in their instructions that the seat has a 2000 mile break in period. had one on my 1100 and yes they are hard but do wear in to you as the miles go by.
