Yes the 4 jets come out the top. No need to remove the carb top cover.
Might remove the jets and have a look at them if clogged.

Oh.
No need to remove the top cover?
So I just need to figure out how to remove the post to which air filter is attached?
Then I will see the jets?

Yes. The jets are under the crossover piece that holds the air filter stud.

I would like to propose a hypothesis that the hesitation is caused by an over rich condition.

Assumption 1.. The bike ran fine before the prolonged sitting event.
Assumption 2... The bike idles fine and runs strong above 3k.

And this over rich condition could be caused by a stuck power valve. The power valve does not affect the idle circuit. But a stuck pV and a working accelerator pump will cause an over rich condition coming of idle resulting in engine stumble. Above 3K the mixture will be richer resulting in a strong running engine but high fuel consumption.

So my suggestion is to check the power valve.

Best of luck !

Okay.

Removed the bridge, removed the slow jets, cleaned them with carb cleaner, thin wire, and compressed air.
Cleaned the passages with carb cleaner and compressed air.

Put everything back together and the hesitation is GONE!

Wow, that was easy.

Thanks Dan and every one else!

Thanks.

I don't know how power valve works.
Do you know where I can get hold of DFT carb info?
I want to learn theory of operation and stuff.

Hi Skiri251,

Good to hear that you got it fixed !!! And you did not have to go that far into the carb.. Bonus ! Now its time to go for a ride.

Im glad that Dan posted that link. Lots of good information I did not know was here on the site. I wonder what other treasures are buried here :)
